Take the first step...
My traineeship at Bryanston Square ends at the end of August (barely 7 weeks from now) and so the last few weeks perhaps months , have been spent preparing for the next phase of my life - probably life in permanent employment or time to be actualising my dream.
It's so hard to believe I have been London for nigh on 1 year now.
Brings my mind to a conversation Marcus Orlovsky (my boss, even if he doesn't like to be called that) had with me and Amy(the other trainee in my office) shortly after we started. His last comment was along the lines of...
"Enjoy the ride but remember you'll have to get off at your stop so other passengers can get on"
The response in my mind then was like "Yeah, yeah" . A year seemed like a world away.
Strange, but we are slowly but surely calling at my station. My mind beats fast as I think of what I'll do when I get there.
As I pondered in the last weeks on what I'll be doing at my stop, two peices of writing have been reminding me to look at my inner compass and I'll like to quote them here for the benefit of you who takes time off your busy schedule to read my blog.
The first was on a birthday card I got from a colleague, Bethan who probably saw the wheels in my brain as I pulled into the station of my 28th birthday. The inscription on the card read:
"Go for it... You are only as big as the dreams you dare to live" -Anonymous
The second was a quote in a book I am reading which is the final propellor to what will be my next move. It reads:
"Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance
to draw back, always ineffectiveness.
Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there
is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills
countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment
one definitely commits oneself, then providence
moves too.A whole stream of events issues from the
decision, raising in ones favor all manner of
unforeseen incidents, meetings and material
assistance, which no man could have dreamt would
have come his way...
Whatever you can do or dream, you can
begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it!"
to draw back, always ineffectiveness.

-W.H. Murray in The Scottish Himalaya Expedition 1951, quoting Goethe (in bold)
I am taking these up in shaping the direction the next few months in my life take me in relation to my dreams and vision.
It may not be an easy ride so KEEP ALL YOUR LIMBS CROSSED FOR ME!!!
