Savour the sun while you have it.
Never in my wildest dream would I have pictured myself as someone who would be excited at the prospect of sunshine. I actually thought the scorching sun in Nigeria had burnt that love out me.
I guess 2 years in Europe have made me realise you don’t always have the sun (YOU DON’T????). Incidentally, if I had been in Finland during midsummer last week, when the sun didn't set at all, I'd have freaked out majorly (apparently night and darkness are as important as scorching sun).
I guess my European experience is also compounded because I lived in the 2 cities with the shittiest weather in Europe, Rotterdam and London (according to The Femi Weather Centre statistics).
Summer is here and we have the sun shining in London. But even us Londoners (and I can claim to be one now) know that “nothing good lasts forever” was said with London’s brand of sunshine in mind.
Very soon the clouds will come, skies will darken, thunder rumbles and then the skies will open with outpour of grey rain…The final signal that summer is over…almost as soon as it started.
So while we have the sun out, the best you can do is get into skimpier clothes or better still get naked and get your body evenly brown – get a tan (Can u imagine, I still get into arguments about me using sunscreen).
