Peter Kay's Universal Truths

In continuation of my exposes on TRUTH, these are the words of UK based comedian Peter Kay on things that are universal truths (worthy argument against some parts of my last blog). ENJOY!!!

1) Triangular sandwiches taste better than square ones.

2) At the end of every party there is always a girl crying.

3) You've never quite sure whether it's ok to eat green crisps.

4) Everyone who grew up in the 80's has entered the digits 55378008 into a calculator

5) Reading when you're drunk is horrible.

6) Sharpening a pencil with a knife makes you feel really manly.

7) You're never quite sure whether it's against the law or not to have a fire in your back garden.

8. Nobody ever dares make cup-a-soup in a bowl.

9) Its impossible to describe the smell of a wet cat.

10) You always feel a bit scared when stroking horses.

11) the most embarrassing thing you can do as schoolchild is to call your teacher mum or dad.

12) Every bloke has at some stage while taking a pee, flushed half way through and then raced against the flush.

13) Old women with mobile phones look wrong.

14) Its impossible to look cool whilst picking up a Frisbee

15) Driving through a tunnel makes you feel excited.

16) You never ever run out of salt.

17) You can't respect a man who carries a dog.

18) There's no panic like the panic you momentarily feel when you've got your hand or head stuck in something.

19) the most painful household incident is wearing socks and stepping on an upturned plug.

20) People who don't drive slam car doors too hard.

21) You've turned into your dad the day you put aside a thin piece of wood specifically to stir paint with.

22) Everyone had an uncle who tried to steal their nose.

23) In every plate of chips there is a bad chip.

What is TRUTH Part 2

Finally after months of procrastination, I have come to post the second part of this topic. I am sure the final output would not meet the expectations set and dampened by my excessive suspense. But still, if I am to satisfy my conscience that I can be a doer, then we might as well bring this to proper closure.

IMHO, TRUTH should not be something society imbibes in you, it's more, what you seek and conclude by urself. Not that u have much hope of synthesising a truth that differs that much from what society subsribes because all the basis you need to verify that your truth is actually true is subtly or openly provided by society.

And when socety chooses to plant a "verifier", it is never defined as someone else's opinion- nope- but as a statement of fact which you have no locus standi to argue against. I say that's all B-shit...

If on the otherhand, society gets to a dead-end as far as planting "verifiers", u are told the issue is a mystery and you'd do best not to explore in that direction. Yet people use that unverified truth to perpetrate all manner of actions which are prejudged right.

UNIVERSAL TRUTHS- How universal are universal truths? IMO, there is no such thing as a universal truth. There is nothing that agrees to the condition of everyone in the world at the same time. IT'S ALL A MATTER OF PERSPECTIVE.

The sun will shine tomorrow - Yeah, right!!! What if I was in Antartic, at that spot the sun never reacheses, will you call me on my satellite phone and say "Don't worry, the sun will shine tomorrow". Shouldn't I stretch my time through the phone to give you a resounding slap?

What then do we do

Every human being should be given the space and time to discover what truth is and to have their own means of verifying it themselves with their own parameters. Wouldn't that cause so much dissent???

Yes, but who says all dissent is BAD. IMO, I think there is far too much assent in the world. People agree and accept too many things, situations and circumstances without raising their voices against it. They are brainwashed so to speak. They stop thinking!!!

As someone said, once human beings give something a name, they feel they understand it, and stop thinking about it...

And if there is anything the world needs more of, it is thinkers. 'Cos thinking is for me, simply a process of creating or verifying what TRUTH is for you.

So back to the original question, What is TRUTH????

Whatever you say it is, my dear, not what they tell you it is.
